Dear Mohegan Families,

          As we enter into the last full month of school, I can’t believe how quickly this school year has passed. I guess it is true…time does fly when you are having fun!

There are many fun events planned for the children this month. Mr. Blackmore has been working hard preparing for Field Day, which is scheduled for June 4th. (rain date June 5th)  He will be requesting help from volunteers and will be sending home something soon. Field day T-shirt order forms have been sent home and are due by May 16th.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase plants at our Mohegan Plant Sale, which is scheduled for May 10th and 11th.  This will give the children a chance to choose something special for their mom or grandmother. 

Classroom assignments will be made after several meetings and much discussion with the classroom and special education teachers. The input of these teachers weighs heavily on the placement of your child. I am asking parents to please not make requests thus alleviating any further complications to this decision making process. As we decide these placements, your child’s best interest and high achievement are of the utmost importance. Remember, we are here to prepare your child for the everyday situations of life, which includes dealing with different personalities, levels of understanding, as well as each child’s social and emotional needs. So, Please, No Requests. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

Lastly, Mohegan School will hold its 2nd Annual Share Fair on May 24th at 5:30 p.m. Students will have the chance to showcase some of their work to their family and friends. Students have been working on numerous projects and activities throughout the school year. They are excited to share their best work with all.
