“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”
Thomas A. Edison
At this time of giving thanks, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for our wonderful students, staff, and parents. I am truly grateful for the high level of support and commitment I receive each day from the staff and the Long Hill community. As I visit classrooms, I am observing the following:
¨ Instruction aligned with the CCSS (Common Core State Standards).
¨ Strong focus on reading and writing in all subject areas.
¨ Highly effective instructional strategies to involve and motivate all students.
¨ High levels of student engagement in which students are actively learning and working cooperatively in small groups on problem-solving activities.
¨ Teachers and students utilizing technology in lessons to enhance learning.
As I walk around the building, I see students following our school’s expectations of Respect, Responsibility, and Safety. For all of these things, I AM THANKFUL. Please remember to continue to reinforce our school’s expectations at home, and read with your children each and every night. The best gift you could give to your children is to read with them. To be a good reader, you must read, and read often. I will continue to work tirelessly to raise student achievement and believe that with your help and support, we will see amazing results.
