Please keep the following in mind:
Boys should wear clothes designed for boys and girls should wear clothes designed for girls.
Clothing should be weather appropriate and proper school attire.
Hats, face painting, make-up and hair coloring is NOT permitted.
Mrs. Manning’s second grade class won the 2012 Weller Award for their project titled Tangram Stories. The project encouraged students to actively participate in the learning process through collaboration with peers. This unit integrated writing, math and technology.
At the conclusion of a math unit on shapes, students created their own tangram pictures. Then, in cooperative groups, students brainstormed and developed a story using their tangrams as inspiration. After writing their story, the groups typed their tangram stories using Microsoft Word. In order to create a presentation, students learned how to copy and paste from Microsoft Word to Microsoft Power Point.
The presentations came out wonderful! They truly showcased student learning. Great job, second graders!
Thursday, June 7th, Friday June 8th , Monday, June 11th and Tuesday, June 12th will all early dismissal days.
