SHELTON COUNCIL

(formally known as PTA Council

 What is Shelton Council?

 

We are a citywide educational organization comprised of council officers,

 the Superintendent, the Presidents & Council Representatives from the following school’s 

 PTA/PTO'S Shelton High School, Long Hill School,  and  

  Perry Hill School. 

 

What is the Purpose of Shelton Council?

 

The purpose of Shelton Council is for all of the Shelton Schools to come together

as a community  to share ideas, thoughts and concerns related to educational issues.

 

What does Shelton Council do?

 

Shelton Council sponsors various events throughout the community during the school year, such as: 

             *Bus Safety Day  *Adolescent Talks  *Meet the Candidates Night

         *Citywide Arts/Choral Festival  *Superintendent’s Budget Presentation

            *Donations to SIS & SHS for student awards/Scholarships

            Also being planned for this year are speakers to cover the following topics: 

             *State Representative on Education   *Internet Safety  

        *Drug and Alcohol Awareness   *College Admissions: What you need to know  

*Our Bus Safety Day was a tremendous success and was attended by 70% of kindergarteners in Shelton.* 

All of our meetings are open to the public and are usually held on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
