B.O.E. Definitions and Policies
The purpose of the Board of Education is to establish the policies (including those mandated by local, state and federal statutes), under which the entire Shelton Public School System functions.
Membership on the Board of Education is by election to office according to the Charter of the City of Shelton and in compliance with State Statutes.
Duties of the members of the Board of Education include the responsibility of each member to work with all other members to maintain effective, workable, attainable high criteria for the Shelton Public Schools. The members implement educational interests, activities, and concerns that best service the needs of the citizens of Shelton.
